A surprisingly modern, sculptural shape from Tonni during his time working with Teddy Knudsen at Larsen. It foreshadows the current blowfish shape, with its combination of lines and curves. This example was obviously carved from a very nice block of straight grained briar, as the bowl is completely surrounded by ring grain. Note also the amber colored acrylic "godet" at the shank, and the assymetrically cut vulcanite saddle bit, both characteristic of Tonni's style. Very large tobacco capacity. Appears unsmoked.
