Teddy's influence upon Tonni's work is particularly apparent in this example. The brandy-shaped bowl has a rounded, under slung heel, the better to show off the dense birdseye. The curved and tapered shank flows smoothly upward from the heel, flattening on the lower surface as it does so to form an almost horn-like shape, completed with a notched and faceted bit of Tonni's own design. The briar is densely grained, with excellent coverage all around the bowl and down the shank. The workmanship is first rate.

The pipe has been very lightly smoked, and is in outstanding condition, complete with original leather sleeve.
