Eric Nording Danish Brandy Straight Grain with Silver Spigot

Price: $225.00

in the '70's, Eric Nording contributed to the crash of the market for Danish pipes by producing very large numbers of "freehands" in the style of Preben Holm. Having survived the downturn, he's now producing much more interesting and classical pieces of very high quality, showing that he is in fact a very good pipe maker. Here we have a tall Danish brandy, whose bruyere-colored bowl is completely surrounded by dense straight grain. Moreover, the tubular bit is fitted with what appears to be a silver spigot mount. In fact, it has a conventional bit, whose vulcanite tenon fits securely into the "spigot" portion, which remains attached to the shank. This is actually a very practical design, as spigot mounts tend to separate unless very snugly screwed together, resulting in damage to the bowl when it hits the floor.

Condition is virtually pristine, and the pipe comes with one of Eric's slightly garish green velvet bags.
