This powerful and rather bold pipe is, in my judgment, seriously undergraded, and could just as well have been an Executive or Selected had the color been a trifle lighter. The nicely shaped Dublin bowl descends below the shank, meeting the flat bottom to form a kind of prow at the forward edge of the heel; meanwhile, the well-articulated shank is quite stout, and slightly longer than the bowl is tall. Together with the 1/8 bent Double Comfort bit, this gives the pipe a "Lovat" like profile. It has especially dense straight grain all around, and is marked "Made by Hand in City of London." Condition is outstanding in all regards.
