Larsen c. 1965 Classic Canadian by "Former," Unsmoked in Box

Price: $325.00

The Danish carvers have great regard for what they call the "Classic" shapes, popularized by the British but actually originating in France. These are shapes that have stood the test of time, and remain popular because they have both practicality and charm, and in many cases, excellent smoking properties because of their good design.

Here is a classic Canadian, gracefully inflected by Danish sensibilities. It has a rather tall, elegantly shaped bowl whose long oval shank merges smoothly and pleasingly into the heel. The taper bit is handcut German vulcanite with the typical rounded "Larsen" lip. The quality of the Corsican briar, the drillings and the finish work are all first rate, and the draft is smooth and easy, with an internal diameter of 3.75 mm.

It's in perfect, unsmoked condition and comes complete with early-style box and silk sleeve. It can withstand comparison with any classical Canadian by any maker. It's quite properly graded as a "Super."
