Comoy c. 1950 Bent Apple/Billiard "London Pride"

Price: $250.00

What a lovely example of the bent apple/billiard from Comoy. The generous bowl is notably graceful, inviting comparison to handcut Danish pipes. Especially pleasing is the smooth curve that begins at the front rim, and sweeps down and around the heel before ending at the bit’s shoulder.

The long curved shank is proportionately stout, and is fitted with one of Comoy’s outstanding handcut saddle bit with tri-partite inlaid “C”.

The “London Pride” is a very high grade, just below the Blue Riband in the Comoy hierarchy. It is lightly stained, and shows excellent grain all around the bowl. It is free if pits or fills.

Condition of the pipe is outstanding in all regards. It is a very good pipe indeed.
